Academics are currently looking for experienced Primary Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and short/long term opportunities within our partnership schools. Working across the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire can be diversified, meaning that we work with an assortment of schools that have different requirements to suit.\n\nWe are proud to say that here at Academics we have had a strong record of placing many of our Teaching Assistants into permanent work following a successful period of long term supply within our primary schools.\n\nResponsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:\n\nSupporting the teacher with the delivery of the lesson.\nPreparing the classroom for lessons, such as setting up equipment.\nManaging behaviour and engaging learners with their own learning.\nWorking with learners either 1-2-1 or in a small groups. \nCommitted to support both the teacher and the learners to succeed.For this role, applicants who apply must:\n\nHave previous experience of working with children in a primary school or educational setting in the UK.\nHold confident communication skills and will be an excellent motivator in the classroom.\nHave strong behaviour management skills with the ability to support learners in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.\nBe happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire by 8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day supply requirements.\nHave a good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).\nBe familiar with the UK National Curriculum.\nOwn a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available.
