Senior Quantit Surveyor

Job Description

Morson Edge are currently recruiting for Senior Quantity Surveyors across London, offering locations such as North, West and Central. Were seeking candidates on a permanent basis, on behalf of a tier one civils contractor. Key experience for this role is civils and NEC contract.

\n \nKey Responsibilities \n\nProvision of accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels to inform Group reporting \nProvision of accurate cash flow reporting \nCost management and project forecasting \nDrafting and updating a monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans \nCompile upstream applications for payment and cash management \nResponsibility for subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial accounting \nPreparation of project applications for payment to final account settlement \nLiaison with clients, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement on matters relating to contractual change, claims and additional payment \nWork with the wider project team to forecast predicted expenditure and cash recovery to ensure that both are in line with business unit expectations \nShare best practices with others and take a proactive approach in advising site teams on cost management and efficiencies \nIdentification and realisation of commercial opportunities \n \nEffectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC forms \nEnsure that main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that align to Barhale's corporate governance, with commercial risks and opportunities identified and managed in conjunction with the project delivery team. \nProcurement of subcontracted works and subsequent subcontract post contract management \nEnsure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions \nSupply chain management, including building and maintaining relationships \n \nEssential experience required \n \nPrevious experience in the civil engineering industry \nFamiliarity with IChemE/ NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law \nPrevious experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations \nDemonstrable experience in monthly forecasting and cost analysis. \nExcellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office \nExcellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines \n \nDesirable \n \nMember of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards \nCSCS card \nHND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying \nDemonstrable knowledge and experience in estimation \nExperience working for a direct delivery contractor \nAn engaging communicator with problem-solving skills \n \nPlease contact Harry Sharrard for more information, via LinkedIn or on (phone number removed)
