Located in Northwich, Elmy Hall School provides a safe and supportive environment for up to 100 pupils aged 5 to 16 with a range of complex needs. Your Role and Responsibilities\n

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will:

\n

\n
• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
\n
• Assist the classroom teacher during lessons.
\n
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other staff to ensure needs are met.
\n
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
\n
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
\n
• Set work where appropriate and mark assignments.
\n
• Build positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
\n

What We’re Looking For\n

To thrive in this role, you should:

\n

\n
• Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
\n
• Possess sound IT skills and previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
\n
• Have experience working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
\n
• Be confident in taking additional responsibilities in areas like food hygiene, forest school, lunchtimes, or school yoga.
\n
• Be experienced in behavior management techniques.
\n
• Be committed to professional development and eager to learn.
\n

Working Conditions\n

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position, term time only, with a salary range of £21,257.48 - £23,232.69.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
