Garment Technologist - Womenswear

North Yorkshire | 4 Days Per Week | Equivalent Full-Time Salary Up to £55,000 per annum

Are you passionate about great fit, beautiful product, and making clothes that customers genuinely love to wear?

We're looking for a talented and detail-driven Garment Technologist to join our clients growing team in North Yorkshire. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves being hands-on throughout the entire garment journey - from first sketch to final shipment.

If you know your way around a fit session, can spot a quality issue from across the room, and enjoy collaborating with design, buying and suppliers to make amazing product happen we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same here, but your role will include:

  • Leading fit sessions from prototype through to pre-production
  • Creating clear technical specifications from design concepts
  • Working closely with factories and suppliers to ensure samples, testing and production stay on track
  • Reviewing garment quality, construction and fit at every stage
  • Approving care labels, test reports and production samples
  • Monitoring returns and identifying opportunities to improve fit and quality
  • Collaborating with warehouse, QC and customer service teams to resolve issues and continuously improve standards
  • Supporting catalogue and web teams to ensure product fit and technical details are represented accurately
  • Occasionally visiting factories and suppliers when required

What We're Looking For

We're after someone who combines technical expertise with commercial awareness and a positive, proactive attitude.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience leading fit sessions confidently across multiple product categories
  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction and quality standards
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Experience working closely with suppliers and factories
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to balance quality, speed and customer expectations
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to influence and collaborate across teams
  • A flexible, hands-on attitude and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience)
