Role Title: Field Sales Manager - Soils & Disposals (National)

Location: UK

Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 per annum, plus 20% bonus and company car/ cash car allowance

Contract Type: Permanent/ Full‑Time

Benefits: 20% annual bonus, company car/ cash car allowance (£5,568 per annum); 8% pension; 2.5x life assurance; BUPA


About the Role:


The Field Sales Manager - Soils & Disposals role has been created following the restructure of the Minerals Division to strengthen commercial leadership and support sustained growth. Reporting to the Head of Soils & Disposal, this role is responsible for driving national sales strategy, developing customer relationships, and delivering volume growth across the full Soil & Disposal portfolio.

A key focus of the position is supporting the planned increase in sales volume, particularly within soil removal, reuse with in MMPs, and maximising opportunities arising from a growing national project and framework pipeline. The role plays a critical part in aligning commercial activity with market demand and the division’s strategic objectives, ensuring the business is well‑positioned to deliver profitable, sustainable growth.


This role has a significant impact on the commercial performance of the Minerals Division, influencing sales volumes, revenue, and margin performance across a nationally spread customer base. It carries responsibility for leading the Soil & Disposal sales function, shaping national sales strategy, and ensuring strong alignment between commercial activity, operational capability, and long‑term growth plans.


What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Delivering agreed national sales volumes, revenue, and margin targets
  • Leading and developing the Soil & Disposal sales function, ensuring clear performance expectations and customer focus
  • Driving growth and diversification of muck away and resue within mmps utilising a circular economy
  • Securing and delivering national and regional projects, frameworks, and key accounts
  • Developing and executing a national sales strategy aligned with divisional growth objectives
  • Working across regions to maximise market penetration and balance supply and demand
  • Supporting major customers and projects through strategic account management
  • Ensuring commercial activity aligns with operational capability, supply chain constraints, and sustainability goals
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities to grow market share
  • Providing technical guidance on soil disposal, including reading SI reports, understanding of EWC code, and carrying out site inspections
  • Using detailed knowledge of material type, sourcing disposal locations, and suitability to support sales planning
  • Managing your own diary and workload effectively across a national remit
  • Coordinating closely with logistics, operations, and transport teams to ensure reliable, cost‑effective supply


What We’re Looking For:


  • Proven experience in muck away , ideally at a senior or strategic level
  • Strong technical knowledge of soil disposal, including reading SI reports, understanding of EWC code, carrying out site inspections
  • Thorough understanding of material type, and disposal locations
  • Commercially focused mindset with a track record of winning new customers and growing accounts
  • Experience developing and delivering sales strategies across multiple regions or customer groups
  • Strong planning, organisation, and self‑management skills across a national territory
  • Practical understanding of logistics, haulage, and supply chain coordination
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility across customers, internal teams, and senior stakeholders
  • Proactive, ambitious, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on sales delivery
