We're working with a respected B2B information and events organisation seeking a commercially minded Editorial Director to lead the strategy, development and growth of a market-leading content and intelligence platform.


This is a rare opportunity to shape the future direction of an established international brand, combining editorial leadership, thought leadership, research, community engagement and product development.


Reporting into senior leadership, you'll own the editorial vision across digital content, research, audience engagement and live experiences, transforming insights into high-value products that drive growth, retention and commercial success.


The Opportunity


This role sits at the intersection of editorial, intelligence and commercial strategy.


The successful candidate will have genuine influence over editorial direction, audience development, product innovation and business growth while working alongside an experienced leadership team.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and executing the long-term editorial strategy
  • Creating premium content, research and thought leadership products
  • Driving audience growth, engagement and retention
  • Working closely with commercial teams to develop new revenue-generating initiatives
  • Leading and developing a small, high-performing editorial team
  • Acting as a visible industry figure, engaging with senior stakeholders and moderating discussions at events
  • Leveraging data, research and market intelligence to identify emerging trends and opportunities
  • Exploring new content formats, products and channels to strengthen audience value and commercial performance.


About You


We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:


  • Experience in a senior editorial leadership role within a B2B information, intelligence, research, media or events business
  • A strong track record of creating high-value content, thought leadership or intelligence products
  • Commercial awareness and experience contributing to subscription, membership, sponsorship or other revenue-generating initiatives
  • Knowledge of complex professional, financial, business or regulated markets
  • Experience managing and developing editorial, content or research teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage credibly with senior executives and industry leaders.
