Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Design Engineer to become a vital part of our Kier Design team based in Norwich. This is your chance to work within our dynamic 750-strong internal consultancy, delivering innovative Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering solutions.

Location: Norwich - Enjoy the flexibility of remote working with occasional office visits.
\nHours: 40 hours per week - We offer flexibility, so just let us know what works for you!

\n\nYour Responsibilities\n

As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Structures and Geotechnical team, contributing to a variety of exciting infrastructure projects. Your focus will be on delivering safe and buildable solutions that meet our clients' needs.

\n\n

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

    \n
  • Designing Permanent Works for structures, highways, geotechnics, and infrastructure, integrating temporary works considerations.
  • \n
  • Supporting tender and bid submissions with outline designs, feasibility studies, and value engineering solutions.
  • \n
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with client and Kier standards.
  • \n
  • Undertaking site visits, surveys, and inspections while providing technical advice on safety and construction matters.
  • \n
  • Managing project deliverables, including calculations, CAD drawings, reports, and risk assessments, while upholding quality standards.

\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have completed a relevant professional institution IPD (such as IEng, EngTech, or CEng) with applicable experience, or hold a Level 6 or 7 qualification.
  • \n
  • You possess a full UK driving licence.
  • \n
  • You are committed to acting safely, ethically, and with a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment and communities.
