Ready for your next high-impact role in frontline Children's Services?\nMy Client is looking for a confident, experienced Children's Assessment Social Worker who can hit the ground running, manage complex risk, and deliver sharp, child-focused assessments from day one.\nThis is a standout opportunity for a strong practitioner who wants excellent pay, clear working patterns, and extra weekly support with travel and accommodation.\n\nWhy this role stands out\n\n£42 per hour\n£100 per week travel and accommodation payment\nPayment confirmed for new and existing agency placements until 31 August 2026\nAvailable to workers who live more than 50 miles from Swindon\nJoin a fast-paced Assessment Team where experienced social workers are trusted to work with autonomy and make a genuine difference\n\nWorking pattern\n\nThis role offers a structured hybrid model with a clear office requirement:\n\nDuty week: 5 days in the office\nDuty week is every 5 weeks\nNon-duty weeks: 3 days in the office\n\nWhat you'll be doing\n\nAs part of the Children's Assessment Team, you'll:\n\nComplete high-quality child and family assessments\nHold and manage complex cases confidently and independently\nAssess and manage risk at a high level\nProduce strong, timely and defensible assessments and reports\nContribute expertly to strategy discussions, safeguarding decisions and case conferences\nWork closely with partner agencies and senior professionals\nModel excellent practice and support less experienced colleagues where needed\n\nWhat we need from you\n\nThis is a role for a capable, resilient and highly effective practitioner. To be considered, you must have:\n\nAt least 3 years' post-qualified experience\n3 years' PQE gained in a permanent setting\nExperience in a Children's Assessment Social Work role\nMust be a car driver\nA recognised Social Work qualification\nSocial Work England registration\n\nCandidate non-negotiables\n\nWe are looking for social workers who can clearly demonstrate:\n1. Strong Safeguarding Practice & Legal Knowledge\n You understand statutory duties, safeguarding thresholds and the legal framework that underpins excellent assessment work.\n2.

Highly Effective Communication & Professional Curiosity\n You ask the right questions, challenge appropriately, and keep the child's lived experience at the centre of your work.\n3. Reliability, Accountability & Good Case Recording\n You are organised, dependable, and produce accurate, timely case notes and high-quality recording.\n4. Emotional Resilience & Safe Professional Boundaries\n You stay calm under pressure, manage challenge professionally, and maintain strong boundaries in complex situations.\n5.
