Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience as an Aspiring Educational Psychologist working with children and young people? This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology graduate to build meaningful experience in a specialist SEN setting in East Grinstead.

We are working with a SEN school in East Grinstead that caters for pupils with additional needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This Aspiring Educational Psychologist role is ideal for a Psychology graduate considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, or Counselling.

\n

The Role

\n

As an Aspiring Educational Psychologist/ SEN Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA), you will support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop key life skills. This position in East Grinstead is particularly well suited to a Psychology graduate who is keen to gain invaluable practical, first-hand experience as a Aspiring Educational Psychologist/SEN LSA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • \n
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement
  • \n
  • Assist with personalised learning and behaviour strategies
  • \n
  • Observe and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
  • \n
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • \n
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • \n

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology
  • \n
  • A strong interest in mental health, behaviour, and child development
  • \n
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • Experience with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
  • \n
  • Able to commute to East Grinstead
  • \n
